A coach must be ready to coach and lead the entire team

A coach has a responsibility to make the decisions that are necessary to get the best out of his team.

He doesn’t have to agree with all the decisions each player is making, but he has to be in-time enough to coach them. A coach must be ready to coach the whole team and coach each player individually. Too many head coaches do not focus on individual players and coaching them individually.

That’s a mistake. I’ve seen too many coaches who made a great player great, but then ignored his strengths and weaknesses. They do this because they don’t want the player to succeed. They do this because they are afraid of the player’s impact on the team, because they were afraid that the player would steal the glory and the team would lose. “All the good coaches are good at one thing only — coaching players.” A coach must make the decision to get the best out of the players he has. A coach must be smart enough to get the best out of the players he has. He can learn a lot about a player from watching them in a game to one week to six months. A coach must make the decision that will get the best out of the player in a given moment.

A coach must make the decision that gets the player’s best out of a moment. A coach must coach his players at all levels. A coach must not worry about being a good coach. A coach can get the best out of the team in five minutes. He can get the best out of a player in five minutes. But he must coach the players all the way down the pyramid until they get the best out of the player in a game.
